Perception is Reality

I was going to write a post today about the less.. innocent dreams i have about Mistress and what i did last night but i think it can wait for another time. I am very mindful that this blog is an expression of my feelings and of my thoughts but also that it impacts on those that read it. It gives them a certain view of me, and to those that know me , the words in it could affect them directly. Theres a responsibility to be had to those that read it as well as to myself.As my favourite person in all the world says, perception is reality. No matter the truth its what someone else sees that is true in their eyes. Makes life a Show.. Always having to make sure that mask is what you want seen. And that can be positive or negative depending on where you take it.For instance i need to make some changes in my life to get where i want to be. Namely in the states. One of those things will be my outward appearance and the clothes i wear. Its all about perception. And that is a positive change. Another for instance.. When i was ill last year i spent about a month or so in hospital. When i got out i was obsessed with the faces people show to the world and what was hidden behind the masks. That was a negative.

People may say they don’t play games, that they are always themselves but always *always* the way you come across to people is about perception. Its not about a game.. Its almost like a seduction and its necessary in life. You have to consider what people see. Always. If you don’t then you are incapable of an essential thing. Its like product marketing.. You have to market yourself. If people see a confident happy, smart person outwardly, or in the words written.. then they will believe that. If people see or read about a person lost, lacking in confidence and unable to present.. then people will always expect that of you. There are always some things that should be kept from all but the very few in your close circle.

For me, that close circle is very small. Mistress, Mr I , Lady S, Mystress Swan and Melina.

As such, where others do still see me, there are things, thoughts, emotions etc that just aren’t shared. Its like.. *thinks* its a need to know thing. Its also to protect myself from hurt, and to protect others from misunderstandings.. its the responsibility i talked about before. Its also about trust.

When you read this blog, what do you see.. A slave devoted to Her Mistress. What You don’t see are the other parts that make up our relationship. Things that make it much more than simple D/s. You don’t see the friendship. You don’t see the human aspect or the vulnerability on both sides. For instance, last night for at least 3 hours i watched Mistress just reading.. We didn’t speak much, we just were around each other. There was no D/s involved. I suppose my happily watching could be seen as devotion. And it is in a way. But i didn’t do it just because i am Her collared slave. I did it out of a love for her, i did it out of a desire to watch her, to learn those small things so easily missed and disregarded, the small inflections in Her face or movements in her hands. To the outside world.. It seems like an act of serene blissful happy slavery. And it is and was. But any submissive would tell you there is always more to their actions then a knowledge of it is desired from them by their Owner. There is more because that slave is still a person. Even objectified and small they are a person who thinks and feels.Objectification magnifies everything until all you see and hear is Your Owner and You forget yourself.

Everyone has something that makes them vulnerable. EVERYONE. Even Owners. I think that is forgotten a lot and i have fallen into that trap at times too. They always seem so confident don’t they? They always know what they want, they have power and authority over you and they have the control. Any sub that thinks that because their Owner is Dominant, and confident does not mean that there isn’t vulnerability. That there aren’t moments of pain, and unsurety. A need to be comforted, or reassured or consoled. You have to remember that they are still a person too and with that very part .. weakness. Because all humanity has weakness.Thats where the true slaves/subs shine through from the flock of many many out there. Because they know this too. Thats why they can swallow down there own desires and recognise always the importance of their owners desires. A good slave is like a .. catalyst. They react to the things added to them. In my analogies case, the wants, desires,needs and moods of their Owners.

In simple words.. breaking it right down so it is easy to understand.. what you do or say or write, affects others.. think about it and think about what you want people to see.
