Things in my research of Gor that interest me
Just some things that i have found while reading about Gor, my books are at home so while i am at my sisters i will do general research.:)
Feeding Ritual;an informal but ritualistic giving of food to a slavegirl by the hand of her master, which underscores her absolute dependence upon him.
This piqued my interest. The thought of that total dependancy being shown so easily with such a small thing. It also seems like a very submissive thing to do. Not nessacirily eating out of the hand like cattle would, but control over food, and nourishment etc.. So basic and so important. .i don’t know . It just stirs something within the part of me that is submissive.
furs of love (noun): the thick furs upon which slavegirls are used. Also referred to as furs of love. Also referred to as love furs.
This one is slightly easier to explain. Ever since i was involved in Mistress’s slave girl fantasy furs were mentioned*smiles* Brings fond memories and thoughts.
girl catch (noun): a Gorean capture game performed for the amusement of men, and at varying levels of complexity which involve hooding the participants, usually a single slavegirl and a group of males. More sophisticated versions involved competitions between cities.
—Slave Girl of Gor, 3:54
This is one of those things that i think i should be totally against in Gor.. But the idea thrills me somewhat. Like a grown up version of kiss chase. And i loved the thrill of kiss chase when i was a girl. I always deliberately got caught by the boy, or girl, i wanted to be caught by*giggles*
gratis blow (noun): the last strike of the whip given when a slavegirl is beaten, considered to be an extra stroke that demonstrates clearly to her that she is fully under discipline and that her master may beat her how, when and as much as he pleases. Also referred to as the mnemonic blow.
—Guardsman of Gor, 19:205
I thought this was interesting. Certainly when i am being whipped i know that it is because Mistress is either punishing me, or she wishes to see me being whipped. But that extra blow at the end, like a reminder.. well it’s interesting, thats all.
initiatory whipping (noun): practiced in some areas of Gor; an introductory disciplinary whipping administered to a girl new to the household; it is intended to impress upon her the absolute helplessness of her position as slave.
—Guardsman of Gor, 19:200-2
I remember reading, in an erotic novel that belonged to an ex of mine about this practice. It wasn’t a book of Gor, but it was about a group of girls capture into slavery, who after a day of imprisonment were whipped, one after another in front of their friends, until they cried out in submission. At which point they were deemed ready to meet the slaver. I remember thinking how horrid that was and at the same time feeling a strange thrill.
kef (noun): the Gorean word for a letter of the alphabet, most likely analogous to the Earth letter k; used most often as a slave brand with symbolic signficance: the straight line representing the staff of discipline and the two curled fronds designating the beauty of a woman, the overall impact when used as a brand is rather floral and the significance of the whole meaning beauty subject to the staff of discipline.
—Fighting Slave of Gor, 4:68
I would never ever want to be or stand branding. The thought of an owner who i meant so little to to be branded that way like an animal would be horrific. If Mistress asked me to get some kind of marking i think i would say yes , because i know Mistress wouldnt ask me to do something that would cause problems. I trust Mistress and yes i may question, for information rather than insubordination but i would submit to that.
The meaning of history lies not in the future but in the moment. It is never anywhere but within our grasp. And if the history of man, terminated, should turn out to have been but a brief flicker in the midst of unnoticing oblivions let it at least have been worthy of the moment in which it burned. But perhaps it would prove to be a spark which would, in time, illuminate a universe.
—Explorers of Gor, p 230
Seeing a quote as deep and insular as this surprised me. I wasn’t expecting something so touching, in a book where so much control and power is..
