What does devotion mean to me? What makes a good devoted submissive?

Dictionary definition of devotion

1. Ardent, often selfless affection and dedication, as to a person or principle.

2. Religious ardor or zeal; piety.

b. devotions Prayers or religious texts: a book of devotions.

4. The act of devoting or the state of being devoted.

A true submissive, someone with the fire to submit, has devotion to their owner. Whatever their issues, or drives may be if that devotion is not there then there is no submission. That devotion, by definition, comes above their own issues or desires. It is one of the core things that define submission to me. That will to put anothers needs in front of their own. Anyone who has had a child will understand this feeling, likewise anyone who has truely been in love , or had responsibility for anothers life. A good owner will return that devotion back to you as well with love and guidance, and the power in them to take your submission. I think its obvious by that statement that i take submission seriously, its not just a game.

Can that devotion go to far? like wise, can true devotion be less than the definition above? I think theres a lot that could be brought up with that question. Which is why i wrote it. Without true devotion.. do you have a submissive? With too much devotion, when does it turn from devotion to obsession. And at that point d oyou stop being submissive?And what if one persons idea of devotion differs from anothers, that could cause problems. I think thats where a lot of jealousy can spring from between subs.

I know my devotion is total, i know that i would do anything i could for Mistress with no question. I don’t do it because i want recognition for it, if i get that recognition.. great but i do not do it for that. i do it out of love, out of trust and out of respect. I know right now i am questioning my submission because things in me have changed, but i know full well that my submission hasnt gone, far from it i think its deeper tha its ever been.
